We create our own Business Model as a way to cooperate with the Intangible Culture Heritage. During the business consultation we share the knowledge how to keep it alive.

If you want to know how:

- to let crafts into the modern market

- to cooperate with traditional craftsmans

- to work inbetween tradition and design

We are open to share our knowledge with you! We have more than 13 year of experience in this proces. Serfenta team - Paulina Adamska, Łucja Cieślar and Anna Krężelok - created the business model: How to keep intangible heritage alive – Cooperation Model, From Research to Business by Serfenta.

How to keep intangible heritage alive – Cooperation Model, From Research tu Business, is suitable not only for basketry but also for all other areas of intangible cultural heritage. Hence, it can be successfully used to preserve other skills as well. Every of three parts of the model: research, design and business can be a main topic of our appointment.

1. Research

We have been doing research into the craft of basketry for 13 years now. We have travelled across the globe to learn as much as possible about this craft. The last living basket makers have taught us their skills, techniques, and materials. We promote basketmaking by writing books, making films, and giving talks.

As part of our research activities:

- we map basket makers, skills, techniques, and materials,

- we share our knowledge and experience through books and modern online channels.

2. Design

We apply new uses to traditional products. We design brand new solutions based on our knowledge and skills. We create tools that make it possible to keep basketry alive. We combine tradition with contemporary challenges.

As part of our design activities:

- we add new functionalities to traditional objects,

- we design new products, forms, and tools.

From a hay basket to a children’s bike basket

From a classic hat to a surf visor

3. Business

Thanks to our actions, basketmaking know-how and products are widely available on the market, sold by online and offline shops around the world. We provide people with the opportunity to live close to crafts.

As part of our business activities:

- we educate new generations of people by connecting them with crafts,

- we give lectures and talks,

- we run workshops,

- we raise awareness concerning the value of manual work,

- we organise craft tours in Poland and other countries,

- we create potential market outlets for crafts.

How to keep intangible heritage alive – Cooperation Model, From Research tu Business, is suitable not only for basketry but also for all other areas of intangible cultural heritage. Hence, it can be successfully used to preserve other skills as well.

Time of the meeting: the number of hours is up to you, the date an hour we can schedule together. The one hour is the minimum of what we need. We propose talk 1:1 online – via ZOOM or a different application.

Do not hesitate to contact us in any questions, we want to answer for your needs.
